Garmin Website Shut Down?

I tired to use Garmiin Express several times to update
my nuvi 65LMT, only to be told that the website
could not be contacted.

Going on the web, I read that the site has been
hit with a ransomware attack. Does anyone
know is this is really true?

Not terribly critical to me, but there seem to be
quite a few "real time" users.

Garmin did go down after a ransomeware attack, it's been
in the news:
