Long time 265T owner finally conceded to new Wider model and trying to 'get
it going'
downloaded Garmin Express. did a few updates.
Shows new map available... 4gb , device shows 2.9gb free
So, it that the end of it ?or workaround ?
Garmin website useless for info on this.
I can download both map AND Basecamp for 4.x gb. Yeah, so how will 4gb fit
into 2.9 gb space then? garmin.com no help.
I would like " JUST NEW STUFF" like a windows update vs a Service pack.

Any pointers?

No need to get deep into this, but if someone has a pointer to more detailed
iinfo I'll read offline.
Thanks.

Happy New Year.

Misc update , comments on 2595:
I did update map and found map errors already. ( DC, 95 in NC etc)

Biggest issue for me is:
My favorites do not appear as text on the screen as I near it. Instead
displays a HEART which I have to press and then will display the info.
Totally unacceptable or me. The entire REASON for me buying a new one was -
newer maps, locations, etc, but I did not expect the screen to chnage.
I've had a Garmin for many years and have hundreds of Favorites saved.
MANY of these favorites are not ... restaurants or friends houses , but
things like NB Speedtrap, that i WANT to see as I'm driving.
Sent an email to support - got a reply telling me... nicely, "too bad for
you".
So,if like me, you want to see text on the screen, don't upgrade the
device - just buy a new map

You have lifetime maps. I had to purchase the LM upgrade for my Garmin
1490T separately. I use the "Garmin Map Update" app to update the map.
I did not have any success with Garmin Express.

When I first tried an update, I found that only a subset of the map
would fit. It was necessary to purchase a microSD card before I could
download the full map, and it was still necessary to do a custom
installation. You may need to add a microSD if your 2595LMT has a card
slot.

I did get maps updated on new gps. Old one has ni lifetime maps, but my problem now this 'no text on screen' for saved favorites for new models - making it useless for me.

If anyone I know tells me they plan to buy new gos i'll give them my new one in exchange for updated map for my 245T. Until then, on my coast to coast trips i'll use both. To see my favorites ands newer street map.
Thanks
