Altitude is a difficult thing to measure. It is notoriously
inaccurate. The slightest change in GPS geometry or signal time
arrival calculations will send the altitude off at 3 times the rate of
position change. So don't expect too much from altitude accuracy.

Why does the reading for altitude change on the 2610 when the car is not
moving? Thanks,

I think Shorty only waits for replies for 10 years. You missed him by just a
few months.
